Michael J. De Smidt

Mr. De Smidt has called Santa Cruz County home since arriving here as a college student nearly two decades ago. Before moving into the legal field, Mr. De Smidt worked in undergraduate education as an advisor and student advocate at UC Santa Cruz for many years. Mr. De Smidt's practice includes general civil litigation, estate planning, trust and probate litigation, and business transactions, with experience in real property and municipal law matters affecting our local community. He is also very active in the traditional Irish music community, playing the Irish uilleann bagpipes in a wide range of events, presiding over the San Francisco Pipers Club, as well as providing instruction on the instrument. Mr. De Smidt enjoys backpacking, cultivating his pepper garden, and spending time with his wife and family.
