Dinah V. Sapia
Litigation is the focus of Ms. Sapia’s practice, particularly involving cases relating to real estate, elder abuse, insurance bad faith, contracts, personal injury, and employment issues. Over the years, Ms. Sapia has also served as an Administrative Hearing Officer for the Agricultural Commissioners/Weights & Measures in various Counties, including Santa Cruz, Contra Costa, Santa Clara, and for the City of Santa Cruz, typically presiding over matters concerning pesticide usage, building codes, and weights and measures regulations.
Currently Ms. Sapia is the elected President of the Board of Trustees for Monterey College of Law. Prior to that, Ms. Sapia served as the elected President of the board of Women Lawyers of Santa Cruz County; and as the appointed liaison board member for California Women Lawyers. She has also served as an appointed Commissioner on the Santa Cruz County Women’s Commission, and as an elected board member of YWCA in Watsonville. Ms. Sapia enjoyed many years serving on the board of Advocacy, Inc., and on the boards of several School Site Councils, and Home and School Clubs.
Professionally, Ms. Sapia is a member of the Santa Cruz County Bar Association, the Monterey County Bar Association, Santa Cruz County Trial Lawyers Association, Women Lawyers of Santa Cruz, Monterey County Women Lawyers, California Women Lawyers, and Consumer Attorneys of California.
Ms. Sapia’s prior active duty service in the United States Coast Guard taught her the benefits of living by the Coast Guard motto: “Semper Paratus,” which means, “Always Ready.”
