| Ms.
Connolly has a strong foundation in federal and state
court litigation. She clerked for the Honorable
Patricia V. Trumbull, Chief United States Magistrate
Judge for the Northern
District of California, San Jose Branch from October
2000 through February 2003 and for the Honorable
William J. Rea, United States District Judge for
the Central
District of California in Los Angeles from August
1989 through July 1991. In addition to her expertise
in the Northern and Central Districts of California,
Ms. Connolly has tried cases in the Eastern District
of California and is admitted to practice before
the Ninth Circuit.
Rebecca received her J.
D. from the University of California at Davis in
1989. At U. C. Davis, she was nominated as the National
Association of Women Lawyers’ Outstanding Law
Student Award and was an Editor for the Law Review.
She completed her undergraduate degree with High
Honors in Social Science at the University of California
at Berkeley in 1985. While at the University of California,
Ms. Connolly was a scholarship athlete on the Women’s
Volleyball team that was ranked as high as ninth
in the nation for the 1982 and 1983 seasons.
Ms. Connolly began her litigation career
in Santa Cruz in 1994 as an Assistant District Attorney
working for the then District Attorney, the Honorable
Arthur Danner, III. Subsequently, Ms. Connolly opened
her
own law
practice
representing
individuals and business clients in a range of legal
matters including general business litigation, employment
litigation, probate litigation, contract negotiations
and dispute resolution, intellectual property protection
strategies, and company formation. Ms. Connolly speaks
Spanish and has experience representing native language
Spanish speakers.
In her spare time Ms. Connolly enjoys
athletics. She is a member of Seascape Sports
Club where
she competes in the Northern
California USTA adult leagues. Her volunteer community
activities include Girl Scouts Troop #1004, Santa Cruz
Montessori School, Santa Cruz Ballet Theatre and the
Monterey Bay Aquarium.
