Locke-Paddon (1995) 35 Cal.App.4th 946; Meister v. Regents of University of Calif. (1998) 67 Cal.App.4th 437, and Watsonville v. Corrigan (2007) 149 Cal.App.4th 1542.
Education
Ms. Karst received her J.D. from Stanford University Law School in 1988, and during her tenure at Stanford was awarded the Hilmer Oehlmann, Jr. Prize for Research and Writing. She received her B.A. in English Literature from the University of California, Santa Cruz in 1978.

She is a member of the California Bar, the United States District Court for the Northern District of California, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
Community Activities
Ms. Karst sings alto with the Cabrillo College Symphonic Chorus, and enjoys cooking, food writing, traveling, cycling, photography, reading, and gardening. She speaks Spanish, French, and Italian.
