Ms. Walker currently enjoys advocating for the elderly through estate planning, trust and probate administration, and elder law (more particularly, conservatorships and special needs trusts), and also practices in the field of business transactions. Prior to joining The Grunsky Law Firm PC, Katy worked as an associate in Monterey, California practicing primarily trust and probate administration, she interned at Senior Citizens Legal Services in Santa Cruz, and clerked for Justice Mary Weiss of the San Francisco Superior Court, Probate Division.
Ms. Walker graduated a Witkin Award recipient and on the Dean’s List from Golden Gate University School of Law in San Francisco, California. While in law school, she co-founded and was president of the Student Elder Law Forum, a student group which sought to raise awareness of elder law issues, and co-chaired the Public Interest Law Foundation.
Ms. Walker earned a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Colorado, Boulder.
Ms. Walker is admitted to the California State Bar.
Community Activities and Affiliations
Ms. Walker is a lifelong resident of Santa Cruz County and a graduate of Aptos High School. With years of experience working in elder care, Ms. Walker has close ties to the elder care/advocacy community of Santa Cruz County. She has been a longtime supporter of the Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk, now called the Walk to End Alzheimer’s, and works closely with the local Alzheimer’s Association chapter.
Ms. Walker is a member of the Santa Cruz County Bar Association, and The Associates, the Santa Cruz County Bar Association’s group for the area’s young attorneys.
